These are lights, not toys
An ithos piece is a decorative night light. It is not a toy, it is not tested as one, and it should not be handed to a small child to play with.

- Keep the cable out of a cot or a bed.
- Do not leave batteries within reach of a small child.
- Wipe with a dry cloth. Never with water or solvents.
How to care for it
Clean it with a dry cloth. Never use water, never solvents, never anything abrasive — the paint is water-based and the wood is sealed, and both will suffer.
Keep it away from direct sunlight. Pine lightens after months of intense light, and the painted colours will also be affected by sun exposure.
If a light stops working, write to us. Do not open the piece, as it will not return to its original state.
Repair parts
As the makers, we keep the parts needed to repair each piece available for 10 years after the last unit of that model is placed on the market (Article 21 of Decree-Law No 84/2021). If it needs repairing, write to us.
Batteries
The battery-operated versions require two AA batteries, which are not included. Remove them if the piece will not be used for months — a leaking battery will damage the wood and the power system.
Keep loose batteries away from small children.
The corded version
The corded version comes with a controller that regulates light intensity, turns the light on and off, includes a timer so it turns off by itself, and makes the light pulse slowly.
Keep the cord out of the cot and away from the bed. Do not pass it under a rug or behind a radiator, and do not leave it switched on overnight unattended in a child's room.
Wood moves
Solid pine responds to the room it lives in. In a very dry room a hairline may open along the grain over a winter, and close again in summer. This is how solid wood normally behaves. If in doubt, write to us: if you bought from us as a consumer, the legal guarantee always applies.
